Road trip to Art: Kent Connecticut

Ricky and I took a road trip today to find an art museum, heading North East.   Google Maps took us into Kent Connecticut.   A beautiful town with a lot of public Art works and many Art Galleries.  Kent is a very beautiful town in the middle of beautiful country side, at the foot of many small mountains.  It is artistically rustic, with deep but not very bright colors.  The buildings are immaculately maintained.

This picture shows the work of Peter Woytuk, one of the artists whose realistic castings of life size animals, crows, pumas, goats, sheep, ... adorn may public spaces.

The Future is here

The day we have all been waiting for is here.   The day we envisioned happening decades ago.   The day that signifies the future as we foresaw it.   The Future is here.

You can now watch any of the original Star Trek episodes from any season whenever you want on Netflix.  We always new this day would come.  And it has.

Viva la tecnologia.

Road Kill

Life and Death is a bad joke.
I saw a road kill today.
I was driving to work
Listening to poetry
on NPR radio
Something about
Many Languages many souls
I wasn't thinking about work
I wasn't thinking about home
I saw a road kill.
I drove around it.
It was a cat.
A very pretty white and grey cat
Someones pet that they loved.
All our inspirations, and
All of our triumphs
come to not
As death takes us.
(I miss you.)

Rainbows in the Cosmos

I have an old copy of one of Carl Sagan's books on the Cosmos, which I enjoy pulling out and reading from time to time.   This ones was my brother Troy's.   I remember it was on his bookshelf when I was over there.   In his many moves and travels, it wound up on my bookself.

What's fun and interesting now, is Bet and I sometimes use it as a bed time picture book.   Last night we discovered a "Rainbow" stellar dust cloud in an alien landscape.   Bet thought it was "Awesome".

Halley

The Great Comet comes about every 75 years.  It last came when I was 25 years old.   So I should expect to see it again ... when I am 100.   Nice.   I have something to look forward to.   I hope Kurzwell is right.

Went for a walk today

Went for a walk today with Walkingirish, Kobu and Maya.  We hoofed it up the hill, on the path, through the woods up to the bridge.  Sat by the water and and watch Kobu and Maya, the dogs, play on the rocks and in the brook.   It was great to stretch out after sitting at the desk all week.
